An Evening in the dark.

Mission: Shadows Fall
Location: Jourdan's quarters
Timeline: MD02 20:00 hours

With the Iapetus docked at the starbase Jourdan felt the need to take some time off. She retreated to her quarters. The blue glow of the starbase coming through the windows echoed off the walls and furniture of her quarters. Strolling over to the chelving unit she looked at the many books that were lined up althabetically.

"Which one" she said to herself looking at it. "Ah here we go" pulling one down and brushing the dust of its cover. Looking down she liked to read the old technical manuals of starships. This time it was the classic constitution class. She had only read the manual a good thirty times, yet it was her favorite.

Sitting down in one of the chairs she switched on the reading lamp and opened the book. Her eyes ran across the page as she began to read the opening chapter.

The constitution class starship, circa 2245 was one of Starfleet's finest class of starships in the twenty third century. The class served as Starfleet's front-line vessels for the rest of the century. The Constitution-class also served as a mighty deterrent to both the Klingon Empire and the Romulan Star Empire, several times taking part in combat actions which determined the fate of the entire Federation if not the Alpha Quadrant itself.

In 2267, there were around twelve Constitution-class starships in the fleet. These included the USS Constitution, the USS Constellation, the USS Defiant, the USS Enterprise, the USS Excalibur, the USS Exeter, the USS Hood, the USS Intrepid, USS Lexington, and the USS Potemkin.

The most famous Constitution-class starship was the USS Enterprise (NCC-1701), launched under the command of Captain Robert April in 2245. The Enterprise gained its reputation during its historic five year mission (2265-2270) under the command of Captain James T. Kirk

Jourdan turned the page to see the original schematics of the ship. She muttered under her voice as she followed the schematic diagrams. After several hours she looked up and saw the clock on her mantlepiece.
"Oh wow, its late" seeing it was now two in the morning. "I better get some sleep" she said wandering into her bedroom and sitting on the bed. Pulling off her clothes and changing into her sleepwear she was soon laid in the blankets, she driften off into a light sleep, diving into her own mind, boldy going where no girl had gone before.
